- I don't know anything about "cleaning" SIMMs but I do know that you can get
- Peace of Mind to do a very thorough job of testing your SIMMs this determing
- whether this is the cause of your problem. Peace of Mind can be configured
- to test your memory overnight using several different testing procedures.
- Unlike other diagnostics, Peace of Mind actually tests every bit of memory
- in your machine, even the memory used by the System. If Peace of Mind finds
- an error, it will report which SIMM (bank and number) and even which bits and
- bytes are affected. This makes zeroing in on the problem much easier.
-
- Peace of Mind also tests all the other major harware components of the Mac,
- along with selected peripherals (SCSI Disks etc). It has both an easy to use
- icon interface, and a sophisticated hierarchical interface reminiscent of the
- System 7.0 finder. It costs $99 US (until Dec 31st 1992) and is available
- directly from Polybus at 800-695-4239. It runs on everything from a Mac Plus
- through the new machines.
-
- I will be happy to give you any other information you would like. I work
- for Polybus.
