  29. I don't know anything about "cleaning" SIMMs but I do know that you can get
  30. Peace of Mind to do a very thorough job of testing your SIMMs this determing
  31. whether this is the cause of your problem.  Peace of Mind can be configured
  32. to test your memory overnight using several different testing procedures.
  33. Unlike other diagnostics, Peace of Mind actually tests every bit of memory
  34. in your machine, even the memory used by the System.  If Peace of Mind finds
  35. an error, it will report which SIMM (bank and number) and even which bits and
  36. bytes are affected.  This makes zeroing in on the problem much easier.

  38. Peace of Mind also tests all the other major harware components of the Mac,
  39. along with selected peripherals (SCSI Disks etc).  It has both an easy to use
  40. icon interface, and a sophisticated hierarchical interface reminiscent of the
  41. System 7.0 finder.  It costs $99 US (until Dec 31st 1992) and is available 
  42. directly from Polybus at 800-695-4239.  It runs on everything from a Mac Plus
  43. through the new machines.
