- According to Apple, you have to be very careful in using current 3rd party
- SIMM cards in the PowerBook 160 and 180. The reason is that most developers
- apparently did not follow the design specs as closely as they should have,
- taking advantage of the extra space in the 140/170 case. The problem is,
- this space does not exist in the 160/180, and some SIMMS have a heat sink
- which conflicts with part of the computer. Whatever you do, DON'T REMOVE
- THE HEAT SINK. This sometimes leads to the "smoking computer" syndrome.
- Check with the manufacturer to see if the SIMMS are usable in a 160/180
- before buying them.
