  11. Basically, I will be using the modem to connect to my university's
  12. unix system and download files, applications and pictures to my home
  13. machine.  I will also be talking with people over the internet etc.

  15. Can a get a 9600 baud modem for under $300 and if not, what is a good
  16. 2400 baud modem for under $300.  
  17.  
  18. Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Please
  19. respond via email and I will summarize the suggestions if there are enough.
