- I bought my 230 through mail order, however, it was a COD transaction. I
- would be wary of sending money to a mail order company, even large ones.
- It places you in a rather bad position if they blow the order or decide to
- "float" you cash for their own benefit. I would also recomend that you
- confirm spoken orders with a fax and then verify that the fax was indeed
- recieved and read, this prevents "accidents" in communication. As to
- price, mail order can be a distinct advantage to a well-informed user who
- needs little in the way of dealer support; mail order firms can offer the
- same or better prices than local retail AND (if they are out-of-state),
- you avoid sales tax. In sum: mail order can be worthwhile, but you must
- be alert, careful, and business-like.
