- I have a 44mb Syquest SQ555 drive which I have hooked up to my SE. The SCSI
- id is #6.
-
- When I boot the system with a cartridge in the drive, everything works
- reasonably OK -- I get an icon for the Syquest with the name RELAX (which
- I presume is the name of the mfg or in the driver).
-
- If I start the system with a different cartridge (one newly formatted on a
- PC, if that matters) I get no icon, which is OK, but I also get no message
- like "unreadable, reinitialize?" I get nothing at all.
-
- SCSI tools will not mount the cartridge, which is not surprising. Norton
- can see and read it but gives a raft of errors, claims its repaired things,
- and eventually spits out the disk.
-
- How do I initialize a Syquest 44mb cartridge?
-
- Please respond by e-mail.
