  26. were the SE/30's the only mac's affected by this? I have a Classic (don't
  27. laugh, yes, I know I bought a preobsolescent machine, but I prefer to 
  28. think of it as "Tried and Tested Technology" :) 4/40 in which the internal
  29. hard drive has apparently gone "wobbly" (not that I know it wobbles, it
  30. intermittantly doesn't store data properly, and the HD SetUp program cannot
  31. initialize it. I can format it with ETC Tools, but it won't boot properly
  32. with System 7.0.1/tuneup 1.1.1, and gives a sad mac code, which I can't
  33. remember of the top of my head.)

  35. Does anyone have the info on which machines/drive serial numbers are
  36. incriminating? I'd love to have the drive replaced for free, but I don't
  37. really feel compelled to actually take it in to a dealer and pay to
  38. have it fixed, since I have a larger external drive with lots of room.
