  27. And, if you're really cheap:  ConcertWare+:  4 voices, etc. (no MIDI),
  28. InstrumentMaker for Mac, mail order price:  $36.

  30. Note:  ConcertWare+MIDI is "Version 5" whereas Concertware+ is "Verson 4",
  31. although these are both the most up-to-date respective versions.

  33. One CAVEAT:  it crashes very frequently on my Mac Classic II (which MUST
  34. run System 7--thanks, Apple), although more so when I have extensions
  35. (screensaver, virtual memory, etc.) turned on.  It seems to work FINE on
  36. a Plus or IIci (latter WITH tons of extensions, MacTCP, Ethertalk Phase 2,
  37. virtual memory); I don't know about other "new" platforms, because the
  38. version I got (cheap one) was written in 1987 I think.

  40. It seems to crash most often on certain dialog boxes (adjust ruler for
  41. staves, set dynamics, tempo, save as, Play/Stop dialog box) in the Writer; 
  42. Player and InstrumentMaker have never crashed on me.

  44. Also, it comes with some predone music you can play back--and you can
  45. order volumes of music that's been put in for it.  Fun to use as a
  46. "music minus one".
