- I have run into a similar problem when working with images from an HP ScanJet,
- but only had the problems when scanning the image as a PICT, if I scanned it
- as a TIFF it worked just fine.

- I think that there must be some upper limit to the size of a single PICT
- resource, so the image has to be subdivided into little rectangles, and these
- appear to be touching each other at screen resolution, but at printer resolution
- gaps appear between the rectangles. Then again that is just my humble, limited
- attempt at explaining the problem

- If you are currently scanning to a PICT and have the option of scanning to TIFF,
- try that and see what happens.
