- I recently loaded the Connectix Powerbook Utilities (C.P.U.) onto my PowerBook
- 100 and was very happy with the range of controls it offered, allowing me to
- eliminate a bunch of random extensions and control panels I had picked up.
- However, there is a catch. Whenever I try to run certain programs that try
- to take over the screen, they only have spradic control - for example,
- After Dark melting clock can only produce flickering floating digits, the
- rest of the screen is still normal. I didn't think much of it until I
- tried to run a few of my favorite games, Oids and Spectre, and neither of
- them worked either! Without the C.P.U. in the Control Panels, the games work
- fine, but otherwise they can't draw to the screen corectly and are out of
- control.
- Has anyone else had trouble with C.P.U. and other applications? Is there any
- way to tell C.P.U. to relinquish control of the screen? Even with all the
- sections in C.P.U. turned off, the problem persists. I don't really want to
- have to reboot to play certain games, so C.P.U may have to go. Any help
- would be appreciated.
- Too bad there isn't a comp.sys.mac.powerbook for dedicated problems like
- these. Sorry about cross posting.
