- Hello,
- I'm the proud owner of a vintage NEC MultiSpeed. I have a packet radio project
- going, in which I need 2 serial ports. The proprietary modem port is a logical
- COM 2. I want, no *need* to connect someway, somehow, a second serial cable to
- this logical COM 2. If I have to throw some chips together on a breadboard or
- whatever, it *has* to be done! At first I thought they just ran TTL level
- serial lines to the modem, but it now looks more like they run the buses right
- to the modem card and address decoding and such is done right on the card. Arg!
- No, I do not have one of these modem cards to look at, nor so much as a pinout
- (40 pin connector - 20 pins X 2 rows) of the port in question (yet). If it
- would be easier to turn this into an ISA slot, I could go that route too.
- Does anyone have a clue??
-
- If you have some helpful info, please e-mail *and* followup, because I want
- to be absolutely sure I get it.
- Thanks,
