- Blanca. Briefly, since I suspect you may get several replies,
- the Blanca I am aware of involves NCSA, LBL (Berkeley) and several
- commercial interests in a high-speed wide-area network utilizing a
- form of ATM. Blanca is one of 5 such high-speed network testbeds
- sponsored by NREN (National Research and Educational somesuch?);
- some of the others are Casa and Aurora.

- some unique aspect for research but all, I believe, are to develop
- and test applications that run on the high-speed network with
- resources distributed over the network.
