- I am new to this newsgroup, so if there is an FAQ on this please
- forgive me.
-
- I have found at least two programs that will work on a Sound Blaster,
- but will not work with my Thunderboard. Both are childrens programs
- that use a CT-VOICE.DRV driver. One is Lawrence productions "Katie's
- Farm" which comes with its own CT-VOICE.DRV, and the other is Edmark's
- Kid Desk which uses the CT-VOICE.DRV that they claim comes with the
- comes with the Sound Blaster.
-
- The Media Vision bulletin board says that Lawrence Productions has
- a new CT-VOICE.DRV that will work, but after recieving the latest
- release, the program still locks up.
-
- Edmark uses the "set blaster=A220I5 D1 T2" and "set sound=c:\sb"
- statements in autoexec.bat to access the default Sound Blaster Drivers.
- Larwence does not.
-
- Media Vision tech support has not been able to help.
-
- The card passes TBTEST.EXE and works fine in windows and with many other
- DOS programs. There is no conflict with my settings of 220h and IQ5.
-
- If someone could please provide some insight, I would appreciate it.
-
- o Is there an incompatibility between the two cards when
- CT-VOICE.DRV is the driver?
-
- o Are there different CT-VOICE.DRV drivers for different
- applications?
-
- o Does Media Vision have a compatible set of drivers?
-
- o Can the developers writing applications provide their
- own CT-VOICE.DRV. (Lawrence does, but it does not work,
- and Edmark claims they can NOT, and that Medi Vision has
- provide the CT-VOICE.DRV.)
-
- o What are the "set Blaster=..." and "set sound=..." syntax
- and variables as the Media Vision docs fail to contain this
- information?
-
- o How many other programs will be incompatible with my
- Thunderboard?
-
- Thanks in advance.
