  10. I have a BOCA 14.4 modem which I'm happy with, but I'm afraid I don't get the
  11. file transfer performance I should get.  I don't think my io board has a 16550
  12. UART (I didn't find any chips with those numbers on them) but the store I 
  13. bought the modem from said with a 486 (my machine) that wouldn't matter. Is
  14. this true? Or not?  All this leaves me wondering if they guy was ignorant or
  15. if somehow I should be configuring registers a certain way.
  16. Any help is appreciated.
