- I have a question for you video card experts out there. Why can my ati
- graphics ultra pro display 1280x1024 (interlaced) in a test program and
- still not use this mode displaying windows? The Gateway tech I talked to
- said the 1MB card with the cheaper RAMDAC could definitely NOT display
- this mode (except in the test program) even with updated drivers. What gives?
- Of course 1280x1024 interlaced flickers like crazy, but it would be nice
- to be able to use it on occasion.
-
- I also have a question for those using the newer beta ultra pro drivers
- released just a while back (last week?). I downloaded them by ftp and
- installed them, and they made my machine lock up just after starting
- windows. Are these drivers only for non-local-bus systems, or did I do
- something wrong? If they are only for non-local-bus, can someone get
- thier hands on the local-bus versions and upload them somewhere on the
- net? It would be rather expensive for me to call Gateway's BBS.
