- It seems to be really hard to get information about EISA-Systems.
- So any information about my EISA-questions would be appreciated.
-
- I want to buy a (fast-)SCSI-II-EISA-host adaptor, which is really
- fast and which I still can pay.
- I want to use it with DOS for now, and with WindowsNT when it's
- finally released - but I know that there probably is anyone around
- knowing about NT yet.
- So I would be interested in performance when running it either in
- DOS or Novell, or NT (if it's already possible - or may be predictions).
-
- 1. Having had several discussions I still don't know, wheter it's
- wiser to get a cached hostadaptor or to use smartdrive instead
- of it (I know that cached-ISA-cards don't improve the performance
- by much - but how is it with the EISA-bus?)
-
- 2. As a adaptor which has an EISA-interface doesn't have to be faster
- than an apropriate ISA-card it seems to me, that it's really important
- to get a card which really uses the advantage of the EISA-bus and
- therefore will be faster.
- -> so which hostadaptors are really good? Can someone make any
- suggestions?
- which of the following adaptors are good?
- - Mylex DC376
- - AMI cache controller
- - Adaptec 1742B
- - bustek?
-
- Any help would highly be appreciated
