- People are quite correct -- the noise does become less frequent as the
- drive warms up. I can deal with it every ten minutes or so. Every
- thirty seconds (perpetually) would have driven be bananas. Seems like
- a reasonably fast drive, although CORETEST tells me the mean seek time
- is still in the neighborhood of 15 msec... I'm not going to disable my
- RAM cache! (After all, 256K is peanuts when something like Windows is
- starting up.)
