  17.     In the hopes of cutting the impnding flame war on software piracy short,
  18. I've posted a working crack for starcontrol 2 to ftp.uu.net in /tmp as
  19. sc2ckfix.zip (This filename is accurate).  Save yourself a lot of trouble-
  20. don't try to list /tmp.  Just cd in and get this file in binary mode.

  22.     This crack was written by software pirates, so if you've grown up with
  23. the walt disney version of life, you may not want to touch it.  It's not
  24. illegal in and of itself, but it does raise some ethical questions.  If
  25. you like the game, buy it.  Support good programmers(and from what I've
  26. seen, the folks that wrote this game weren't just good - they're _artists_).

  28.     Some final words:  Software piracy may be wrong, but I can live with 
  29. it for now.  In a perfect world, nobody would pirate, games would be cheap
  30. enough to buy without going deep into debt, and software companies would
  31. always give you your monies' worth.  Until somebody debugs reality, the 
  32. best I can do is a quick patch here and there.
