- You cannot build canals as such. However, you can build several cities
- adjacent to each other and get the same effect. I have used this
- on several occasions when the bottleneck is very narrow. It is actually
- possible to have the city be self supporting (2 food) if their is large
- city nearby sucking up all of the resources. When you move into the
- first city you will stop but when you move the next turn you do not stop
- (at least up to 3 cities, this is the widest I have tried:)
