  10. To any links386 fans out there:
  11.  
  12.     I am running a 386-40 with links386 on my hard drive.
  13. Anytime I attempt to play, the game hangs up before it even
  14. reaches the title screen. I am using Norton DOS as my shell and
  15. the NCache program from Norton Utilities 6.01 on my hard drive. 
  16. However, even when I disable NDOS and NCache (boot from floppy
  17. and just use MS-DOS 5.0) I then get the following message:

  19.     Memory Protection Fault
  20.     CS:EIP  000Fh:0003B7E8h
  21.  
  22. after I try to run golf.bat. I do have an ethercard installed
  23. in IRQ5, but some of my friends also use the same card and
  24. LINKS runs beautifully on their systems.
  25.     Other information that might help:
  26.     I ran the test.vesa program and my video card works
  27. perfectly. I also have a MediaVision Thunderboard installed on
  28. IRQ2, but that hasn't given me problems with any other games.
  29. The techie at the co. where I purchased my system suggested
  30. removing the ethercard, but I don't need the trouble of
  31. reinstalling it. I would appreciate any help offered.
