  33. I would expect VAX sales to continue very strong for the next 2-5 years as the
  34. world transitions over to Alpha AXP.  Certainly we want people to move to 
  35. Alpha AXP as soon as it makes sense for them to do so, but the world can rest
  36. assured that Digital will remain committed to our VAX customers as long as
  37. VAX is important to them.

  39. Just take a look at the PDP-11.   The last time I checked, which was a couple
  40. years ago, the PDP-11 was still a $1 billion a year business.
