- We want to add a SCSI adapter to our DEC 5400.
- fyi... 5400 is a MIPS RISC processor in a Q-bus
- configuration running Ultrix.
-
- The local office claims that the 5400 does not support SCSI and
- that we'd need to upgrade to the model 5500 (board and memory swap) in
- order to achieve SCSI compatibility.
-
- Is this marketing hype or is there some technical problem that
- prevents the use on SCSI on this system? If it's possible, who do you
- recommend for third-party sources for the SCSI adapter since DEC is
- not interterested/able to sell us one.
