  12. After all the lively discussions about Chaos being
  13. either the best game ever or the ultimate pits, I
  14. decided to look for myself. So I picked up a copy
  15. from atari.archive.umich.edu, formatted the 
  16. ridiculously large disk (:-), unmsa'd the whole thing
  17. and sure enough: I now have an auto file containing
  18. a loader and chaos.prg. BUT...: When I try to run
  19. the program, it enters a loop, rebooting & telling me
  20. time and again that this boot sector is virus-free.
  21. Now that is great news, of course, but I would like
  22. to see something more happening after a while.
  23. BTW this same thing happened when I tried to run
  24. chaos.prg without the loader, after booting with
  25. another disk.
  26. It even happens with both files outside the AUTO
  27. folder, so it is not simply a matter of crash and
  28. reboot.

  30. Does anybody have any bright ideas about where the
  31. cause of my misery lies?
  32. - is this virus check part of the loader? Is it 
  33. included in the msa disk image, or has some other
  34. program (fcopyiii, for instance) put it on there?
  35. - why would even running chaos.prg directly result
  36. in this virus check routine?
