  20. According to Ray at TOAD Computers, this is not so.  You _can_ format 720K
  21. and 1.4Mb floppies in a floptical drive... you just need the latest version
  22. of ICD's software which comes with the LINK SCSI/DMA adapter.  There may be
  23. a problem doing so with TOS's prior to 1.4 but I cannot confirm that as yet.

  29. Well, I'd say it probably should depend on what you use or want to use your
  30. computer for.  If you can't run larger apps because of memory limitations,
  31. then go for a RAM upgrade.  The TOS upgrade is _always_ a good idea and gives
  32. you a lot of bang for the buck.

  34. However, if you really intend to buy a Falcon soon, then don't put any more
  35. money into hardware upgrades for your Mega.  And if you don't have a hard 
  36. drive or don't plan on buying a Falcon with the built-in hard disk, then I'd
  37. recommend buying a fixed hard disk BEFORE a floptical.  Hey, the flopticals
  38. are neat but they are NOT the best solution for primary storage!  At any
  39. rate, an external hard disk or a floptical could be used on _both_ systems.
