- It is not possible to use a DeskWriter from ProDOS8 due to the fact that
- it is a QuickDraw printer and has no internal fonts. Ordinarily, programs
- such as ProTERM will just dump the text out the printer port as ASCII, and
- it is up to the printer the interpret the information and print it. The
- DeskWriter works on the Mac (and the IIGS with Harmonie) by simply
- printing bitmaps of the current document (alright, it's a bit more complex
- than that, but you get the idea). In ProDOS 8, you're not sending your
- text out as graphics, but rather as straight ASCII. And the DeskWriter,
- with no built-in fonts, has no way to output this information.
