- In todays mail I got the latest Radio Shack flyer. In it they
- have a two page spread on their new Memorex MD-2500 VIS player.
- This is yet another CDTV style CD-ROM interactive entertainment
- system.
-
- They've got it priced at $699.95 and apparently doesnt come with
- any discs except a special bonus disc of Comptons Multimedia
- Encyclopedia. Several other titles were mentioned but no pricing
- or part numbers were listed.
-
- From a EE Times article the VIS supposedly runs a Intel Processor
- and a special version of Microsoft Windows. The screen shots in the ad
- didnt impress me very much, even though the text hyped a 16 million
- color display.
-
- I'm not sure what the CDTV is going for these days, but based on
- features alone, I see nothing in the VIS that would make me rush
- out and buy one.
