-
- As others have assumed, you have also assumed incorrectly. I spent QUITE some
- time selling the things.
-
- Let me put this as simple as possible:
-
- SELL the computer! Defensive stances are losers from the get-go. If you
- cannot address the advantages of owning a 1200 or 4000 or what-have-you to
- the customer, you are doing that customer a dis-service by making excuses
- and implying things that C= may or may not make good on.
-
- It's like this: If you want a high-performance machine with killer graphics
- and one of the niftiest operating systems to be found in any personal computer,
- have I got a deal for you. If you get stuck on the size of the floppy drive,
- you are going to be more happy with a clone.
-
- C= DOES make clones, ya know. If your customer isn't looking for what
- the Amiga has to offer, she'll be more than happy with a clone, more than
- likely.
-
- ]> That's the stuck-up attitude CBM dealers can do without. If there's a
- ]> problem with the computer, it's always best to admit it and try to fix it,
- ]> not tell the customer to "buzz off" and "go get a life."
-
- Only problem is, 90% of the dealers that can't get over the 880K drive
- hurdle are more than likely to apply a liberal coating of snake oil than
- actually be honest about the whole thing.
-
- To me, that floppy is totally irrelevant. To others, it's thier downfall.
-
- Amigii have had 880K drives for QUITE a long time, and there have been 1.44M
- drives for beemers for QUITE a long time. So it's just now we have to make
- excuses?
