- While I agree with your commment that the software is just the tool,
- and I can't quibble with your appraisal of Aladdin4D (never seen it)
- I could quibble with your "test" (and I will:)
- I have worked with several softs on both the Amiga and SGI platforms
- and found that it is very important to read the documentation as
- early as possible. There is usually a logic to the software and
- it should be understood before a software is appraised. At that
- point one can judge the software as to whether the logic of the
- soft is good for themself, and whether you can do advanced or
- interesting work with it. Whether or not you can spin a logo is
- of very little interest if what you want to do is make character
- animation. And say this from the point of view as Caligari-BC user
- whose interface is certainly as "easy" as LW's (and with BC3.0 you
- can now make Animated FFD's :).
- My test: read your documentation, spend some time with the soft, then
- read the docs again, then try to do something serious with the soft..
