-
- Yes, of course. And now it's 3.0, Tim. And how many things have
- changed since 3.0 (except for more optimized graphics routines) ?
-
- The new Proportionnal Gadget has a 3D look (still no symbol in it)
- that looks like a brick, nothing more. Now you can change the pens for
- the menus to have, for example, a better looking Black Text/White
- Background menu.
-
- Don't get me wrong, this is a good GUI, but this is not the reference.
- Now we have good high resolutions, why does CBM distribute their
- WorkBench disks with Icons that should be used in a 640x200 environment ?
- Why isn't there any Cut/Paste operation available in string Gadgets ?
- Why are the icons only restricted to WorkBench ?
- Why is there no animation support for Gadgets ?
- Why is the string Gadget still buggy with proportionnal fonts ? (I talk
- for v39.106 kickstart and v39.356 GadTools).
- Why can't you put your own background in proportionnals ?
- Why is there no support for gadgets placed in a superbitmap window (to
- have, for example, a scrollable panel) ?
- Why can't we see any support for Curved or Rotative gadgets ? (Yes, you
- can make them with BOOPSI, but that's a lot of work)
- etc... etc...

-
- Of course not. But why do so many companies write their own GUI ? That's
- because even the 2.0 GUI lacks some useful features like some I've
- described above.

-
- GadTools is slow, GadTools is ugly. Have you ever seen a NeXT ? This is
- THE reference.

-
- Did you ever programmed something with GadTools ? If you're saying GadTools
- is great, then you're the first developper I know that say that.
