- After seeing an ad in Amazing Computing for an analog joystick adaptor for $10,
- I went ahead and sent for it.
-
- It cost $12.95 total and is merely a 9 to 15 pin cable w/ a 3 position switch
- on the 15 pin side to adjust it.
-
- I found out that my Kraft KC3 joystick I had was not compatible (only one of
- the two buttons worked), but every other kind of IBM joystick should work fine.
-
- Anyways, I booted up some games and here are my thoughts:
- (though only one button works, the x-y controls were fine)
-
- Flight of the Intruder-- improved
- Knights of the Sky -- still a bitch to control well, though improved
- Nova 9 -- improved, but no big deal
- A-10 Tank Killer & Birds of Brey -- while easier to control than digital,
- it was still a bit jumpy. But, I think this has more to do with my
- slow computer (stock A2000) than with the joystick
-
- GREAT improvements were found in Microprose's Formula 1 Grand Prix &
- F-15 Strike Eagle II. Very smooth, steady responses and the degree of control
- analog has over digital became obvious.
-
- Also, I think having two buttons at your fingertips, will improve gameply since
- there will be less reason to fumble with the keyboard while playing a game.
-
- At $13, the DIGI-PRINT adaptor is a great value. If you want to reach them,
- you can call them at 804-560-1769 or send a check for $12.95 to:
-
- DigiPrint Inc.
- P.O. Box 13016
- Richmond VA 23225
-
- (I am in no way affiliated with these guys)
