- In article <Andy.02y9@Birdland.UUCP>, Andy@Birdland.UUCP (Andy Patrizio) says:
-
- >I spoke to Sierra On-Line today. They are definitely out of the Amiga
- >market. The reason? Low sales, and the fact that their products are being
- >made for 386 and up. When they convert it to a 68000, which is what most

-
- Gee. They do an incompetent job, and we're unhappy. What a surprise.
-
- Listen, I've seen my share of Sierra games, and most of 'em wouldn't
- tax a 6502 much less a 68000. 68000 + blitter + copper would easily handle
- Leisure Suit Larry V, for example (not that you'd want to bother, of course...)
-
- >I've heard that more than once, too. Amiga owners are complainers who bitch
- >and moan if the Amiga version is one color or one pixel short of the PC
- >version.
-
- This is because, dammit, it doesn't HAVE to be. Why SHOULDN'T we get
- offended when they do a quick and dirty port when they could do a decent
- job? This is beginning to sound like "we shouldn't demand quality, it only
- drives manufacturers away..."
-
- You can't blame them for not wanting to bother with a small group
- >that is never satisfied.
-
- Satisfied with garbage, no.
-
- >Before you start flaming me, name ONE PC product that was ported to the
- >Amiga that the community gave a positive reaction to.
-
- Sure: Anything from Dynamix, such as Stellar 7, Nova 9, A-10 v1.5, and
- Monkey Island I & II. Anything from Lucasfilm. Most things from Microprose.
- Anything from Maxis.
-
- See, it's NOT so hard.
-
- Personally, I say good riddance to 'em. I can't stand Sierra games, and
- they've only gotten worse with time (even on the native IBM PC.)
-
- "But Dr. Radium, was that necessary?" "Rez, _everything_ I do is necessary."
