  29. i just got two zyxel 1496E's, one for my Amiga, one for an IPC at work.  it
  30. works like a charm on the Amiga (B2000, VLT w/ the standard serial.device
  31. (from 2.04).  couldn't lock the baudrate at 38.4K, got some errors whilst
  32. using zmodem, but works fine at 19.2K.).  now if only i could get the IPC to
  33. behave...

  35. the 16800 bps option is nice.

  37. getting it to run on the Amiga was almost as simple as taking it out of
  38. the box and plugging it in.  the default configuration works straight off,
  39. you could tweak a few things if you like, but there's no need.

  41. my one complaint is that there are some discrepancies between the quick
  42. reference card and the manual.  the former seems newer.  all the info's
  43. there, you just have to poke a bit for the more esoteric stuff. this is a
  44. real minor complaint.

  46. well, there's also the problem that the manual wasn't written by someone with
  47. a complete grasp of english.  it's on the whole well written, it's just that
  48. i grit my teeth when they say "configurate" rather than "configure".

  50. i got mine for ~US$350.  it has worked real well, and having tuned in to the
  51. Supra gripes on the datacomm groups think that the extra dough is worth it.
