- >(My assumptions say "no", but I could be wrong..)
-
- i just got two zyxel 1496E's, one for my Amiga, one for an IPC at work. it
- works like a charm on the Amiga (B2000, VLT w/ the standard serial.device
- (from 2.04). couldn't lock the baudrate at 38.4K, got some errors whilst
- using zmodem, but works fine at 19.2K.). now if only i could get the IPC to
- behave...
-
- the 16800 bps option is nice.
-
- getting it to run on the Amiga was almost as simple as taking it out of
- the box and plugging it in. the default configuration works straight off,
- you could tweak a few things if you like, but there's no need.
-
- my one complaint is that there are some discrepancies between the quick
- reference card and the manual. the former seems newer. all the info's
- there, you just have to poke a bit for the more esoteric stuff. this is a
- real minor complaint.
-
- well, there's also the problem that the manual wasn't written by someone with
- a complete grasp of english. it's on the whole well written, it's just that
- i grit my teeth when they say "configurate" rather than "configure".
-
- i got mine for ~US$350. it has worked real well, and having tuned in to the
- Supra gripes on the datacomm groups think that the extra dough is worth it.
