- I picked up a Zyxel U-1496E last week, and while I haven't had a chance
- to test its Fax or DigiVoice w/compression options it seems to be a good
- modem. Works fine on my A2000 using the modems default presets. So far
- the best transfer rates I've gotten were around 1800 cps without tweeking
- a thing. I believe there are two versions of the 1496E. The newest one
- (which I have) has been upgraded to 16,800 bps and has built-in Caller ID
- and Distinctive Ring detection. I paid $350 retail.
