- Hmm, once again, this sounds like a problem with the actual playback
- routines for ProTracker, not something specific for EdPlayer. Of course
- Lars has bigger and better things to do now than fix old buggy music code.
- He has told me on IRC (a few times) to make my own playback code, as
- if that were easy to do (and get _right_). He has also posted to Usenet
- that people who make their own code are bound to get it wrong :-)
-
- As for this specific problem of zero-byte samples, there are other ways
- to make a channel be quiet. One is to issue a "volume = 0" command
- (this is C00 in MED I think, and I'm not sure what it is in ProTracker).
- (I'm obviously not a mod writer myself, which makes fixing other people's
- mod playing code even harder). Another way is to go use MED, a program
- with a very well-documented, supported, functional playback code.
- You never hear about EdPlayer messing up MED modules...ahem... ;-)
-
- Maybe, if everyone who thinks EdPlayer and other modplayers don't play
- PT mods right, all send Lars some money and ask him to make a new and
- inproved PT playing sourcecode, maybe he will do it. Any chance of this,
- Lars? Hmmm...? Or maybe he will tell us [again] that if we want to
- play ProTracker mods at all, we should do it with the Real Thing
- [ie ProTracker, not Coke] and who needs ARexx support or random play anyway.
-
- (This memo needs lots more smilies than it has if I'm going to have
- any chance of escaping unflamed from this one.... ;-)
