- It's both (for versatility). The initial AMOS package comes with an
- interpreter. Also included is a RUN ONLY version of the interpreter so
- that anyone who doen't have the AMOS editor cannot edit the program (not
- to mention it is smaller). AMOS programs are not stored in ASCII
- format, but the editor allow importing of ASCII if you wish to port over
- some old BASIC programs. A compiler is also available for improvements
- on the size, speed, and source protection of a program.
