- Better at what? Running a small, windowing and multitasking OS? Playing

-
- The Sega can display up to 64 colors out of a palette of 512. Note, these
- are 64 individual colors, not the half-bright mode we are accustomed to. Not
- awesome, but useable. Nominal resolution is something like 340x256 ,but the
- Genesis can be put into "interlace" mode, similar to the Amiga.
-
- Most amiga games use 32 colors. Some manage to do more, via various hardware
- tricks unique to the amiga, at the risk of platform compatability.
-

-
- Actually, it isn't. The fact that the Sega is a dedicated game system means
- that it has no multitasking OS (in different versions) to worry about.
- Programmers are free to bash the hardware as they wish.
-
- I have a lot of games that ceased to work when I got my 3000. No such
- problem with my Genesis.

- If you want a _computer_, then buy an Amiga. I own two of them. If you want
- a _game system_, then your options are a bit more open. I own a Genesis, and
- may buy a SNES in the near future. I find games on dedicated game systems
- are better done, and are more playable. This is not to say that there are
- not some nice games for the Amiga. The recent _Flashback_ game demo shows
- what the Amiga is capable of as a game platform. Sadly, though, this game is
- likely to be ported to the Genesis, where it will sell a zillion copies,
- with no apparent loss of quality. And the programmers will probably make a
- lot more money on the Sega port than the Amiga version.
-
- If you want to talk peripherals, let's see who has the most successful
- CDROM attachment, 6 months from now.
