  23. I don't think you quite understood what Clive Jones meant Gary.  He
  24. doesn't mean nfs on a UNIX machine, I think, but pcnfs on an Arc.
  25. Theoretically it could work by exporting a directory on a UNIX machine
  26. containing the Replay files to the world.  It would be a bit hard to
  27. hack the files if they were on CD ROM (:-).

  29. In practice it is unlikely to work because an Arc trying to mount the
  30. directory over JIPS would probably time out because it would be so
  31. slow.  Might be an interesting experiment to try though.

  33. Ftp between JANET sites with JIPS goes at about 15 - 20 Kbytes per
  34. second and I suspect Replay files need a bit more bandwidth than that
  35. so even if one could mount the directory they couldn't be used
  36. directly.
