- "Read mem: 524288
- "Avail mem: 299008
- "
- "So, out of curiousity, I opened up my machine and found on the motherboard
- "an 8x9 bank of 64K chips (totalling 512 K) and in one of the slots below

- "So, what does the message I get on boot really mean? Is my machine unable

-
- you should:
- 1. remove and reseat the mem card, to clean its connector.
- 2. get the diagnostic disk and run the mem tests.
-
- btw, with a pile of 256K chips [and sockets] and a little time [;^>],
- you can upgrade your machine to 4M ram.
