- I thought I had a 7300 with 1 meg of memory, but I was always confused
- by the boot message:
-
- Read mem: 524288
- Avail mem: 299008
-
- So, out of curiousity, I opened up my machine and found on the motherboard
- an 8x9 bank of 64K chips (totalling 512 K) and in one of the slots below
- the motherboard a board with an identical amount of memory.
-
- So, what does the message I get on boot really mean? Is my machine unable
- to find the extra 512K?
-
- Also, could someone sell me an updated copy of the OS? I have version 2.0
- of the OS< and it seems that everything on OSU is compiled for version 3.X.
- Does anyone who updated to version 3.51 have an earlier version they can
- sell cheap (every purchace has to go through my wife) that I can use until
- I can afford 3.51? I just want to be able to get some software from OSU
- running on this machine.
-
- Thanks!
