- It sounds as if you are experiencing the nefarious "burned
- motherboards" problem. On the 7300's, power for the hard drive was to
- the motherboard and back out to the hard drive. Since this is a fair
- amount of current, the board gets hot, melts the solder which corrodes
- and gets hotter and increasing the resitance through the connection.

- One repair suggestion has been to clean and resolder the power
- leads to the hard drive and the power supply. A better alternative is
- to get a Molex connector to connect into the hard drive and make a new
- power cable and bypass the motherboard connections.
