-
- Yes. Well, so does the newer (1.8) version that comes standard with the
- 3.51 Foundation Set. The differences between them appear to be that the
- 1.7 version uses Rsume and Shift-Rsume to toggle between windows, whereas
- 1.8 uses Shift-Suspd and Shift-Rsume, and that 1.8 has a memory leak, while
- it has been reported that 1.7 does not (I have not personally confirmed
- this claim, since I didn't like the use of Rsume to switch to the previous
- window when I tried it a few nights ago.

-
- Yup. The switch is immediate.

-
- Hmmmm. Y'know, now that I think about it, I think perhaps the immediate
- switch feature may have been introduced with one of the fixdisks to 3.51.
- It's a bit fuzzy for me, since I also used 3.50 (or was it an even earlier
- version?) that I know required the use of Suspd, which produced a selec-
- tion window. However, there were a couple of hacks, one from THE STORE!,
- and another from someone on the net (John Milton?) that let you scroll
- through the windows with Ctrl-Shift, and some other key combination,
- respectively, to achieve the same function with the older version kernel.

-
- Well, you can get the CAPSCTL+IN thing from THE STORE! archives at OSU
- or UUNET or wherever if you're using a kernel older than 3.51, or you can
- upgrade to 3.51m if you have a 3.51 kernel (I think the fixdisk is in the
- OSU archives, maintained by David Brierley).
-
- "Good luck" (to quote DoN :-)
