  13. I am doing some operations on a number of images, which are all of
  14. different sizes.  One thing I want to do is to split each image
  15. up, and extract four subimages, one for each quadrant of the 
  16. original.  I can do that with vextract *AS LONG AS I CAN FIND
  17. OUT THE SIZE OF THE ORIGINAL IMAGE AND MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO
  18. VEXTRACT WITHIN MY PROGRAM*.  Any ideas on how best to achieve
  19. that?
