  13. I received a number of replies when I asked how to work with a 
  14. non-rectangular ROI.  Quite a few people seem to want to do this.
  15. Two people offered to contribute code for this, and (if they consent)
  16. I shall pass on anything from them to the group.
  17. In the short term, I have a solution which uses annotations in 
  18. editimage to mark out a ROI.  Using the polygon, this can be made to
  19. be almost any shape.

  21. I have written a demo workspace which uses this method, which I am
  22. prepared to contribute, if anyone is interested.  However, I would
  23. first like a volunteer to check it on another system to make sure
  24. I haven't goofed.
