  13. Is there a pd/free/shareware tape backup for DOS to a Unix system (an example
  14. would be a port of gnu-tar with remote tape support to DOS).  I have root
  15. access to two unix machines to install host software if needed (the machines,
  16. a Sun and an IBM RS6000, both have /etc/rmt).

  18. The PC has a thinwire e-net card with a packet driver, and I usually run
  19. QVTNET on it.  I couldn't seem to come up with meaningful keywords for 
  20. archie (do you know how many entries come back if you search for tar ??)
