- The rules about how to set up your scsi bus terminations are fairly straight-
- forward: the two devices that are at the PHYSICAL ends of the cable must have
- termination resistors installed. There are three possible configurations:
-
- 1. All target devices internal
- In this configuration, you need a termination installed in your host adapter
- and in the target device at the physical end of the cable.
- 2. All target devices external
- Same as #1 above
- 3. Some internal, some external
- In this configuration, your host adapter's termination should be removed
- and the termination should be installed in the devices at the extreme ends
- of both the internal and external cables.
-
- Again, there should never be more than two devices (this includes the host
- adapter) on the scsi bus with a termination installed.
-
- As for your tape drive, there must be some way of removing the terminating
- resistors. If there aren't any obvious resistor packs to remove, then try
- looking for a jumper to set to disable them (hopefully you have docs.).
- I've never seen that drive before so I don't know for sure how its termination
- scheme works.
-
- Hope this helps...
