- I'm looking for some basic information about the Archive 2525 QIC tape
- drives capable of storing 525mb on a cartridge. I have found a good price
- on them and am considering purchasing one.
-
- First, I know that these drives can also _read_ QIC-150 and QIC-250
- tapes (right?) but can they write these tapes in thos formats too?
-
- Second, what kind of transfer rates could I expect with this drive? I am
- interested in knowing real-world sustained transfer-rates to tape not just
- figures which are inflated by any on-drive buffers the drive may have. I
- have seen advertisements quote rates of 12-14mb/minute... are these rates
- actually achievable/sustainable?
-
- Aany other general opinions as to the reliability and performance of
- these drives would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanks in advance for your help.
