  12. i just realized that i can cross the 150MB boundary by using longer
  13. tapes in my Archive S2150 tape unit.  i was using DC6150 and now
  14. tried a DC6250 -- i got 180MB (expect i could get 250MB).

  16. the dysan DC6250 tape box had a warning paper saying that using
  17. extended length cartridges on devices that where designed for
  18. standard length could change the head wear pattern and utlimately
  19. reduce head life.

  21. does anyone have any knowledge of the potential risks?
  22. (i only use my tape drive a few hours a month)
