- i just realized that i can cross the 150MB boundary by using longer
- tapes in my Archive S2150 tape unit. i was using DC6150 and now
- tried a DC6250 -- i got 180MB (expect i could get 250MB).
-
- the dysan DC6250 tape box had a warning paper saying that using
- extended length cartridges on devices that where designed for
- standard length could change the head wear pattern and utlimately
- reduce head life.
-
- does anyone have any knowledge of the potential risks?
- (i only use my tape drive a few hours a month)
