  11. while not responding to your direct question, i would suggest you
  12. consider performing a test unit ready by target/lun rather than inquiry.
  13. keep a track of responding units and only issue them an inquiry.

  15. inquiry entails a data xfer phase, the test unit ready doesnt.
  16. as such it is better suited for boot time device presence inquiry.
