- I hope somebody can help me with printing to an LN03/Plus on a PC serial port.
- The LN03 doesn't respond, but the same configuration works for a Panasonic
- printer.
-
- Here are the particulars. I connect to a Panasonic printer (9600 baud, 8 bits,
- no parity, 1 stop bit) and print an ASCII file called test with the DOS
- command: print test. I reconnect to the LN03, configured the same way---as
- verified with the configuration page---and nothing happens. I reconnect back
- to the Panasonic and the file is printed, as if the LN03 was issuing Xoff.
- Only pins 2,3 and 7 are connected on the DB25 connector. The hardware manuals
- say the functions of pins 2 and 3 are identical on the two printers. I've
- tested cable continuity. I've tried, without success, to print from Word
- inside Windows after having installed the DEC-supplied LN03/Plus driver for
- Windows. Since the most basic test (print command under DOS) fails, I suspect
- some hardware problem. The LN03 is working while connected to a PDP 11.
-
- I'd appreciate any advice or notes on experience with an LN03 connected to a
- PC.
-
- Thanks, Fred
