  11. The C compiler for ALPHA AXP, called DECC, does not provide the linker
  12. with the correct information for cross-referencing purposes:  if a function
  13. is only called by other functions within the same module as the callee,
  14. then the linker reports _no_ modules reference that function.  ugh.
  15. DSN acknowledges that this is not my imagination, but they are still
  16. trying to decide if this is a "bug" or a "feature".
