- My management wants to archive files off of VMS in a format that can be
- read on their IBM system (the vax is going away...). It looks like the
- cartridge tapes (System Industries 2480 - looks to the vax like a TA90)
- themselves can be read on the IBM cartridge tape drives - though only
- fixed length records so far.
-
- The question is, what would be a good format to write the tapes to
- preserve as much of the directory structure and file characteristics as
- possible? Anybody done this?
-
- Thanks
- Jon
