  13. My management wants to archive files off of VMS in a format that can be
  14. read on their IBM system (the vax is going away...).  It looks like the
  15. cartridge tapes (System Industries 2480 - looks to the vax like a TA90)
  16. themselves can be read on the IBM cartridge tape drives - though only
  17. fixed length records so far.

  19. The question is, what would be a good format to write the tapes to 
  20. preserve as much of the directory structure and file characteristics as 
  21. possible?  Anybody done this?
